I was born in Rivewview Park over 40 years ago (one of the first residents!) and lived there until my teens. Your photos brought back many memories - even the new ones are like looking down a time tunnel for me!

As promised I have looked through your web pages, I wish we could put harmer street back the way it was as it looks so shabby today.

You can imagine what the shelters would be like on the prom if they were still in use, memories of my childhood there.

Thanks for the site keep it going

Kind Regards

Harry

Thanks Harry, that was quick. smile

Harmer Street could indeed look nice but it seems to have gone the way of other parts of Gravesham.

I'm glad the shelters are gone, would be a haven for certain types of people. frown

Nice talking to you today.

Hi

I used to live in gravesend 56 pelham road. Does anyone have or can get a photo of that address as it is now? It had double front doors and the victorian bay windows either side.

Im also looking for information relating to gravesend.

In the early 1900's there used to be a poor home for girls in gravesend itself and was named kendall house in 1929 and it was eventually moved to pelham road and was still called kendall house. It was closed in 1986.

I am looking to have contact with anyone that remembers or has pictures of the place.

It was a nightmare to live in and very bad memories but would love contact with anyone who knows of this home

Well done to the owner of the site
