I have been told by my grandmother that my great great grandmother owned a florist shop in gravesend. I am looking for any pictures or information, but all i know is that it was opposite the old RAF base on a corner.

I found your website very interesting. I will be visiting Gravesend in a couple of weeks and I was looking for tourist attractions to visit whilst in the area. Thanks for inspiring me! Mick

Great website. The pictures are great.
My husband's grandfather lived at 67 Wrotham Road in 1911 Census. His wife was Henrietta Kitney we believe a teacher locally. There were 4 boys, Harry, Victor, Sidney and Stanley. Any Information about the Kitney family would be appreciated.
Thanks again. We are from Sydney, Australia.

This is a great site and brings back fond memories being an old Gravesendian. Thank you. I now live in Swindon Wiltshire arriving here via London. I left Gravesend back in 1975.
The Old Christ Church...did it have a graveyard and if so what happened to the graves when the old church was demolished? Does anyone know? I am doing family history and my grandparents lived in William Street and would, I am pretty sure have worshipped there as I daresay my dad would have done. He was born in 1903. I only remember the new Christ Church having been born in 1948.

I was born in gravesend kent in 1934. Seen many changes and spent time in Army Quarters with my husband Eddy Cox and children in different places. Went to St John's school and gravesend junior technical school. Always trying to find Mary O'Dwyer 9 my little school mate. Heard she went to Australia.
